To Become an ISSN Nutritionist …

Mandatory Requirements

  1. Current paying member of ISSN
  2. Have attended one of the ISSN National Conferences in the past 3 years (may be asked to present proof of registration)
  3. Bachelors degree
  4. (Note:  starting in January 2010, you must have attained a CISSN to be listed on the ISSN website).

Highly Recommended

These are criteria that if met, will greatly enhance your chances of being listed on the website.

  1. Earned the CISSN certification
  2. Five years or more experience in the sports nutrition field (e.g. writing for consumer magazines, consultation with sports teams/athletes, etc).
  3. Masters or Doctorate level education
  4. Have presented at one of the ISSN conferences (regional or national)
  5. Published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition
  6. Worked with the Advisory Board of the ISSN
  7. Have worked with ISSN in organization conferences/workshops etc.
