Moderator: Jose Antonio PhD

12:00pm (USA East Coast time) Dr. Arny Ferrando - Topic: Making Sense of Acute Protein Feedings. Dr. Ferrando will cover aspects of muscle protein synthesis. He will also touch on aging (i.e., do older individuals need more? Is there anabolic resistance, etc.). 

12:30pm (USA East Coast time) Dr. Jose Antonio - Topic: Chronic High-Protein Consumption. Much of the original work in chronic high-protein consumption has been done by Antonio and colleagues at Nova Southeastern University. If you love protein, you'll love this talk. Listen to it and drink your whey shake at the same time.

Arny Ferrando PhD FISSN

Dr. Ferrando is Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences https://aging.uams.edu/research/the-center-for-translational-research-in-aging-and-longevity/arny-ferrando-phd/. He is one of the leading authorities on skeletal muscle metabolism. Jose Antonio PhD FNSCA FISSN

Dr. Antonio is a faculy member at Nova Southeastern University. His research agenda focuses on the role of diet (primarily protein) on body composition. In addition, his current projects involve sports neuroscience (e.g., the effects of caffeine and creatine on various measures of cognition and mental performance).  Dr. Antonio loves protein. Though He loves coffee and rice more.
