The Self-Proctored exam is a pencil and paper exam that you take in the presence of a proctor (e.g. a university professor). It is NOT the online exam (which does not require a proctor). The Self-Proctored Exam option allows you to choose the date, location and time (3 hour exam time) in which you want to take the CISSN and SNS. You must first find a local proctor (preferably a college professor) to deliver the exam to you at a mutually agreed time/place. He or she will give you the exam to take at a location agreed to by both of you (ex. University library, academic office, etc). Once you are finished the exam, you will notify the proctor, give it to him/her and he/she will mail it back to the ISSN. Please contact the ISSN office if you have further questions.
